Sometimes things turn out differently than planned. When Theresa D. asked us at the end of her FsJ (August 2019) to financially support her farewell gift for the “After School Center” in the form of the construction of a playing field, we spontaneously agreed. So Theresa could organize all the construction materials needed in the last weeks of her stay.

After Theresa D. had left South Africa the After School Center was threatened with closure because the hygienic situation no longer met the official requirements. It would not have been allowed to continue operating without improved sanitary facilities. The head of the center has pragmatically used the materials and the cement surface originally intended for the play area to build new toilets there.

In our opinin a good and pragmatic solution to help the After School Center to survive.
